Abstract: Today, many people aim to create businesses to increase income, but only a small number of them achieve the desired success. The main causes of failure include a lack of financial resources, poor performance and a lack of innovation, which often lead businesses toward bankruptcy. Businesses in Albania play a key role in the country's economic development, contributing significantly to the state budget. Performance measurement is a key indicator of a business's success, showing whether it can generate revenue and grow. In recent years, performance measurement has expanded to include non-financial indicators, such as employee performance and customer satisfaction. This study examines the importance of performance measurement in Albanian businesses, analysing whether adequate attention is given to ensuring long-term success.
