A convergência das atividades militares e policiais no Brasil e o emprego de sistemas de aeronaves remotamente pilotadas
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The deployment of the Armed Forces in public security operations contributes to the convergence of military and police activities and objectives. This article investigates whether the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems by the Brazilian Air Force is an example of this convergence process. These systems are part of the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Aviation, and are used to identify targets and support decision-making, mainly within national borders, in operations at the border strip and operations to Guarantee Law and Order. The methodology employed is the textual analysis of the news published on the Air Force’s official website: Content Analysis allows the collection of texts to be systematically classified, while the IRAMuTeQ software allows them to be statistically analysed. The results show that, although military and police activities are distinct, the use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems by the Air Force is an example of their convergence.
