Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Research material consists of selected excerpts from the private correspondence of Alojzy Feliński, a poet who lived at the turn of the 18 th and 19 th centuries and served as the director of a high school in Krzemieniec (in the Tarnopol Circuit). The analysis focuses on letters sent from 1795 until the epistolographer’s premature death in 1820 to nine recipients from the circle of friends, as well as from the social and public spheres, including individuals active in Warsaw, Galicia, and Petersburg. The aim of the study is to analyze the letter signatures presented in various contexts. At times, it delves into issues of epistolary etiquette, at other times it relates to the matter of eutorics, and occasionally it considers the process of rhetorical persuasion.
