Abstract: In recent years, in the face of globalization and ongoing technological innovations, the Air Force Command (COMAER) has dealt with strategic planning as an essential tool to achieve its goals. The interest in verifying whether the current people management measures provide adequate preparation skills to cope with the prospective scenario of 2031 established by the Air Force Military Strategic Plan (PEMAER) was the motive for this work. In its completion, we reviewed the literature on this subject and surveyed the current practices adopted in the COMAER, trying to compare them with those recommended by leading authors in this area. After the theoretical framework, some reflections were made in order to discuss possibilities for improving the process. As a result, we can say that to deal strategically with the many changes that will determine the future of the Air Force, it is necessary that the institution be concerned with the proper training of its staff, now.
