Manufacturing technology of wear-resistant, complex configuration of aluminum-zirconium ceramic products for orthopedics

Abstract: A high-tech manufacturing process for wear-resistant, complex configuration products made of alumocirconium ceramics for orthopedics is described. Manufactured orthopedic products made of alumocirconium ceramics have passed preclinical, clinical trials, registration as medical devices in the territory of the Russian Federation and are actively used in various clinics of the country. To date, more than 5,000 operations have been successfully performed using conjugated ceramic pairs of the hip joint. The ceramic inserts of the knee joint endoprosthesis remained functional after 5 million cycles.
