Abstract: Introduction: Reconstruction of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACLR) has been very prominent in the academic and professional experience of those involved in this process, physiotherapists, trauma-orthopedists, anesthesiologists and surgeons. However, there is still no consensus on the performance of the multidisciplinary team and its techniques, with disagreements regarding the benefits and actions of the multidisciplinary team in the ACLR process. Objective: This study aims to understand the effectiveness of immediate physiotherapy in the postoperative period of anterior cruciate ligament, to evaluate the quality of life after physiotherapy treatment in athletes and men who have undergone this reconstruction. Materials and methods: This is a literature review whose databases were Scielo, Pubmed and Google Scholar, the keywords used were: immediate physiotherapy, anterior cruciate ligament postoperative period, physiotherapy and ACL, in Portuguese and English. Results: 245 articles were found related to the importance of immediate physiotherapy in the postoperative period of anterior cruciate ligament. Conclusion: It is necessary for the physiotherapist to know all phases of ACLR rehabilitation to understand the symptoms that the patient will present and to be prepared, thus having expertise on which technique to use in each phase of rehabilitation. It is necessary for the physiotherapist to set up individualized rehabilitation protocols for each patient. using the greatest diversity of techniques, which prioritize performance for the patient’s greatest gain in function, forgetting rehabilitation time and thus increasing the quality of rehabilitation and safety when returning to sports or daily life.
