Type: article
Abstract: Static gas wave refrigerators (SGWRs), characterized by their unique structures and absence of moving parts, have been successfully utilized in the fields of natural gas extraction and purification. However, the synergistic mechanisms of their components remain inadequately understood, hindering further advancements in cooling efficiency. To address this issue, this paper proposes an analysis of the synergistic effects of jet oscillation frequency and gas wave cooling efficiency through numerical simulations and experimental research, grounded in theoretical analysis. Numerical models of double-tube SGWRs were developed to analyze the pressure waveforms at both the entrance of the gas wave tube and the nozzle across various jet frequencies. Concurrently, the conditions for the adaptation of the wave system dynamic within the tube were established, and the approximate range of the optimal jet frequency was deduced. The experimental pressure waveforms and gas wave cooling efficiency were analyzed using a SGWR experimental platform equipped with a full-feedback pulsed jet source. An approximate formula for the extreme jet frequency was derived from the experimental shock wave traveling velocity. Additionally, the refrigeration performance under various parameters was validated by establishing a multi-tube SGWR whole machine experimental platform.
