Abstract: Effective communication involves several key factors and skills that interlocutors must possess to ensure person-centered interaction. The quality of the relationship between interlocutors is crucial, irrespective of their societal roles. Communication encompasses interaction, feedback, and the exchange of meanings and viewpoints on common interests. In this process, both the content (information) and elements such as personal value systems, prejudices, and communication styles of the interlocutors are significantly relevant. Various factors influence the act of communication and the communicative behavior of those involved. The term communication is often used with different connotations, emphasizing a relationship with others to share or participate in something common. Effective communication requires a relationship between the involved parties and a range of elements that condition communication, regardless of its type: verbal, nonverbal, and paraverbal. Essential skills for effective communication include understanding the interlocutor's internal frame of reference, reflecting feelings, active listening, asking questions, and providing effective feedback.
