Abstract: The aim of this research is to explore the impact of emotional intelligence on students' academic achievement in economics at SMA Kapin Jakarta. A quantitative method using simple random sampling was employed, involving 52 students from grades X and XI. Data were obtained through a questionnaire assessing emotional intelligence and report card scores in economics. The results of the simple linear regression analysis indicated a significant positive influence of emotional intelligence on academic achievement, with an R² of 0.232 and a p-value less than 0.05. The dimension of self-awareness was recorded to have the highest achievement level at 80.77%, while self-regulation exhibited the lowest achievement at 52.31%. The findings of the research indicate a positive relationship between the enhancement of emotional intelligence and improved academic performance in economics. This discovery underscores the importance of strengthening emotional intelligence within the educational curriculum as a means to promote better academic achievements. The study has significant implications for the development of learning strategies that integrate emotional intelligence components at the high school level
