Abstract: Injuries to fingertips are one of the most common hand injuries treated in medical settings. Traditional treatment options often have disadvantages, such as increased risk of infection, high cost, and donor-site morbidity. Here, we discuss two cases of fingertip injuries with associated nail bed damage where we used NovoSorb® biodegradable temporizing matrix as a successful alternative treatment compared to skin grafts and acellular dermal matrices.
