Abstract: Background: Adolescence is a crucial developmental phase where emotional regulation and psychological traits like aggression and self-confidence can significantly shape future behavior. This study investigates the effects of various combined training modalities—specifically aerobic, plyometric, and speed training—on aggression and self-confidence in Indian secondary school athletes in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of combined training interventions on reducing aggression and enhancing self-confidence in athletes aged 12 to 17 years, over a 12-week period.Methodology: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 60 athletes assigned to three groups of 20 each. Group A received aerobic and plyometric training, Group B received plyometric and speed training, and Group C received aerobic and speed training. Training was conducted on alternate days for 12 weeks. Aggression and self-confidence were measured using the Aggression Questionnaire (AQ) and the Self-Confidence Inventory (SCI), respectively. Data were analyzed using ANCOVA to control for baseline differences, followed by post hoc comparisons using Tukey’s HSD test. Results: ANCOVA revealed significant group differences in both aggression and self-confidence (p < 0.01). Post hoc analysis showed that Group A exhibited the most significant reduction in aggression and the highest increase in self-confidence compared to Groups B and C (p < 0.01). Group B also showed significant improvements (p < 0.05), whereas Group C demonstrated moderate but non-significant changes. Conclusion: Combined aerobic and plyometric training significantly reduces aggression and enhances self-confidence in adolescent athletes. These findings suggest that tailored training programs can positively impact both physical and psychological development in young athletes.
