Abstract: The study examined the effect of agricultural cooperative societies on poverty alleviation among rural households in Ekiti State with a special reference to Ikere Local Government Area. Primary data sources were used in the study through self-administered questionnaires and were analyzed using linear regression model. Result from the study revealed that Agricultural Cooperative Societies have a positive and significant contribution to ending poverty and hunger among rural households in the Ikere Local Government Area. The study concluded that Agricultural cooperative societies have a positive and significant effect on poverty alleviation among rural households in Ekiti State. The study recommends that Agricultural Cooperative Societies should be more generous in credit facilities to their members. Also, while that is important, the Societies are encouraged to educate their fellow members on the judicious use of funds for profitable investment activities which can reduce poverty lines in their communities
