Abstract: This study analyses the application of project-based learning in a group of second-year commercial dance students (n = 16) at the Hungarian Dance University’s the dancer and coach training programme. The study sheds light on how the project aligned with curricular and extra-curricular objectives and requirements, as well as how it contributed to the students' individual and group development. The final product was a performance entitled Soundpainting, which featured musical and visual improvisations and drew upon notations from Treatise, a collection by the English experimental composer Cornelius Cardew.
