Impact of Anxiolytics and Anticonvulsants on Clinical Outcome of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Treatment of Depression in the Va Clinical Tms Program
Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Observational Study
Abstract: Background: The current literature has conflicting information regarding whether antiseizure and anxiolytic medications including benzodiazepines have a negative effect on the outcome of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for the treatment of depression. The VA’s national database of clinical TMS provides a unique opportunity to investigate the impact of these classes of medications in a large, multisite naturalistic sample.
