Abstract: This lesson engages 7th grade students in a creative reading/writing project where they extend their knowledge of a text by utilizing block coding, sound recording, and Makey Makey kits which are "a digital toolkit that creates a closed-loop circuit by connecting alligator clips to conductive materials” (Turcotte, 2024, p. 1)—to create an interactive poster. This lesson requires students to move beyond comprehension to analysis and interpretation. This lesson could be adapted for any subject and grade level with the proper scaffolding and supports.
