Abstract: Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyaya (1876–1938) remains an iconic literary figure whose narratives have deeply influenced Indian literature. Writing in colonial Bengal, he explored themes of social inequality, love, sacrifice, and rebellion against oppressive societal norms. His portrayal of human struggles in rural and urban settings is a blend of realism and idealism. This research examines the thematic essence, character construction, and socio-cultural influence of Chattopadhyaya's stories, analyzing their historical context and relevance to contemporary audiences.
