Abstract: The article analyzes and systematizes the main areas of volunteer activity. A classification of volunteering is proposed, considering the diversity of forms of voluntary activity based on various criteria, including goals, directions, the nature of activities, and other factors. The main aspects of volunteering are presented from the position of the volunteer subject, their affiliation to a specific social group or organization, qualifications, and motivation. The target audience and focus on specific groups and communities reflect the classification of volunteering from the perspective of the object. The areas of volunteering are systematized by field of activity. A trend of identifying specialized areas of volunteering is noted, which allows for discussions on the professionalization of the volunteer movement. The author highlights the specialized category of musical volunteering, which holds pedagogical value in the context of the professional and personal development of musicians and the cultural education of society.
