Abstract: A brief evolution of nursing is presented. The significance of the concepts of nurse scholar and nursing scholarship in the creation of nursing science is discussed. Statements about nurse scholars and nursing scholarship signify their importance in the creation of nursing science. Possible issues of concern for nursing are presented as questions.
