Abstract: The land-raid on Kuban in August 1920 was the last major military initiative of the White Movement. The territory controlled by Gen. P. N. Wrangel was restricted to the Crimea and parts of northern Tavria. The extension of the perimeter of the combat actions was also of great strategic importance in relation to the Western Allies, who expected victories and a return of the initiative of 1919. In its early days the landing was successful – many local Cossacks joined in. The Bolsheviks who had a good organization and bold moves managed to blunt the force of the white offensive. Provision and ammunition shortages further complicated the situation in the camp of the White. In early September, the army of S. G. Ulagai was pushed out of the Taman Peninsula, and the land-raid ended without having achieved its intended objectives.
