Bipolar voltage tracking control for DC/DC Boost converter–full-bridge Buck inverter system: Design and analysis

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: In power generation systems, DC/DC and DC/AC converter stages and their respective control are required. In this regard, a control scheme based on the Exact Tracking Error Dynamics Passive Output Feedback (ETEDPOF) methodology is designed for the bipolar voltage trajectory tracking task of the DC/DC Boost converter–full-bridge Buck inverter system. The generation of the reference trajectories, required by the ETEDPOF-based control, is achieved via the differential flatness property exhibited by the system. This control strategy is derived in the sense of the Lyapunov stability theorem, so that a stable tracking performance can be guaranteed, as long as there is no endogenous and/or exogenous perturbation in the system. Furthermore, the analysis and effectiveness of the proposed ETEDPOF scheme is verified by numerical simulations at circuit level using the SimPowerSystems Toolbox of Matlab-Simulink. Such control is able to generate positive and/or negative DC voltages, sinusoidal AC voltage or any other tracking task of bipolar voltage, for possible application in renewable energy generation where DC/AC conversion is required, mechatronic applications, as well as driver for DC or AC motors, among others. The analysis and simulation obtained showed less than 1% of error which results in a good performance of the designed controller.
