Phosphite mediated molecular editing via switch to meta -C–H alkylation of isoquinolines: emergence of a distinct photochemical [1,3] N to C rearrangement

Abstract: A phosphite-mediated photochemical [1,3] alkyl migration from N -alkyl isoquinolinium salt led to its meta -C–H alkylation. Subsequent N -functionalization and tuning of migration protocol allow regioselective double C–H functionalization.
