Abstract: The article analyzes the influence exerted by various types of protective seals of bearings in rollers of belt conveyors on the value of the roller rotational resistance. Domestic and foreign methods for determining and calculating the resistance to rotation of rollers are reviewed. Based on analysis, it is concluded that it is necessary to develop an updated method for calculating the roller rotational resistance and improving the design of the conveyor rollers through the use of the closed type bearings.
