Year: 2024
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Migraine disease is a prevalent neurological disorder characterized by recurrent pulsating unilateral headaches, occasionally accompanied by sensory disturbances. Comorbidities such as cardiovascular complications, epilepsy, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders are commonly associated with migraines. Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are commonly prescribed for acid-related conditions, but their use has been linked to adverse effects, including headaches. This case report presents the first case of new daily persistent headaches and chronic migraine disease associated with using proton pump inhibitors.
