Abstract: This study investigates the research training opportunities in accredited Australian counselling programs. A desktop review of 90 accredited qualifications across 44 institutions was conducted, focusing on the inclusion of named research methodology and project subjects. Results indicate a wide variation of exposure to specific research methodology and project subjects, depending on what level of study and specific course chosen. Students who study courses with insufficient research training and production may require additional bridging studies for eligibility for doctoral studies. Recommendations are provided.
