Abstract: Based on survey data, this article analyzes the places where Bulgarian students read in the ‘post-literacy age’. These places, perceived as conditions that foster the formation of attitudes towards books, enhance the prestige of reading, and shape actual reading practices, include various social institutions such as the family, school, and library. The article seeks to answer the question of which of these has the greatest impact on cultivating reading habits in today's younger generation.
