Production of glass-ceramic material of strontium aluminum silicate composition by semi-dry pressing

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The processes of pressing and sintering ceramic samples from powders of crystallized strontium aluminum silicate glasses were studied. Non-porous high-strength glass-ceramic materials were obtained by semi-dry pressing method followed by crystallization and sintering, their structure, physical and mechanical properties were determined. Samples with a diameter of 60 mm and a thickness of 10 mm were molded using a 2,0 % solution of natural rubber in gasoline under а pressing pressure of 50 MPa. Non-porous strontium-anorthite glass-ceramic material was obtained as a result of two-stage heat treatment at temperature of 760 °C in the first stage and 1375 °C in the second.
