Type: article
Abstract: As dye wastewater poses increasingly significant harm to the natural environment, the development of visible light responsive catalysts for the efficient degradation of dyes has become imperative. In this work, Zn 0.6 Cd 0.4 S solid solution modified Bi 2 MoO 6 was synthesized via a two‐step solvothermal method. The photocatalytic performance of the catalyst was evaluated through the degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) under visible light irradiation. The results indicated that the 10 wt% Zn 0.6 Cd 0.4 S/Bi 2 MoO 6 (10% ZCS/BMO) composite exhibited remarkable RhB removal efficiency, achieving 92.8% after 2.5 h, while pristine BMO demonstrated only 53.6% removal. This enhancement was attributed to the successful construction of a heterojunction in the 10% ZCS/BMO composite, which led to low fluorescence intensity, signifying efficient separation of photogenerated carriers. Consequently, the photocatalytic activity of BMO was substantially improved. Furthermore, · O 2 − played a pivotal role in RhB degradation. This work provides a reference for the design of efficient visible‐light‐driven catalyst, facilitating the rapid purification of dye wastewater.
