Abstract: The fortress located on the Pădurea Fagului (The Beech Forest) hill south of Biborțeni-Baraolt town in Covasna County has been a subject of interest since the 18th century, but its history has remained shrouded in mystery until now. In order to comprehend the morphology of this site and its integration in the surrounding relief units of the area, we conducted a series of interdisciplinary studies by remote sensing techniques such as aerial archaeology, LiDAR survey and geophysical investigations. These studies represent a crucial first step in preparing for a new archaeological research project at the Tiburț Fortress in Biborțeni. This article presents some of the results obtained during these studies.
