Abstract: This chapter discusses the need to better regulate dark patterns in digital markets to protect consumers. It argues that technology-specific rules may be more effective than general regulations, as they can address the unique challenges posed by these practices. The author suggests that automated detection methods could help enforce compliance and adapt to the changing digital landscape.
