Abstract: RNA and DNA extraction from formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples can be a challenging process due to the cross-linking and degradation of RNA/DNA caused by formalin fixation. However, we demonstrated with the right protocol, it is possible to extract RNA with sufficient quality to generate reliable sequencing data as well as residual DNA recovered during RNA isolation with adequate quality for SNP array platforms.
