Abstract: N2 fixation by Axotobacter vinelandii in the rhizosphere has a plant fertilization effect. Leroux et al. (e01528-24) show that these activities can be stimulated by Bacillus subtilis in stationary phase. This finding can guide consortia formulations for enhanced biofertilization.
