Abstract: As scholars of health systems, we are conscious that digital strategy is playing a primary role in the transformation of healthcare.Humanitas Research Hospital was founded in 1996 in Milan, Italy.In these 27 years the hospital has achieved international recognition, has expanded across Italy and has started its own university.It is now considered one of the best hospitals in Italy [1].One thing, however, is still the same.The medical and non-medical staff still behave like they were in a start-up.Humanitas is a large hospital with 783 beds and offers the range of services of a common general hospital.Reaping the benefits of a digital strategy can be complex [2].The key elements of Humanitas' success all link to the success startups achieve with implementing their digital strategy.
