Type: article
Abstract: This article is a study of the concept of space in the works of the French philosopher M. Foucault. Spatial discourse in his works is presented in many ways, the article highlights such concepts as: the space of knowledge of the modern episteme, politicized space and architecture, urban space as a transmission of social hierarchy, internal space and the structure of institutions as the implementation of the disciplinary mechanism of power. The aim of the study is to analyze the concept of the disciplinary mechanism of power in spatial discourse in the philosophical thought of M. Foucault. Foucault introduces the concept of a disciplinary mechanism that describes the relations of power in society. According to this concept: discipline, order and power are the driving forces of this mechanism, however, it is carried out in space; space creates the possibility of review and supervision, control and coercion, it becomes a field of interaction between power and society; space reflects and transmits hierarchy, as well as the discourse of power in society; power, being carried out through space, penetrates the internal mechanisms of society.
