Abstract: The article explores the project management of aircraft acquisition in the Brazilian Air Force, focusing on identifying vulnerabilities and difficulties faced by the Subdepartment of Development and Programs (SDDP). The research is exploratory in nature and aims to understand the factors impacting project success, from definition to deactivation of systems. The study emphasizes the importance of a structured methodology for supplier selection and evaluation, aiming to enhance the operational capacity of the Air Force. The lessons learned are crucial for the continuous improvement of acquisition processes.
