Academician V.N. Obraztsov in the History of Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers (dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary)

Abstract: The article is dedicated to the anniversary of Academician Vladimir Nikolaevich Obraztsov, who largely contributed to organisation of domestic transport science and founded a scientific school of designing railway stations and transport junctions, and who was a leading specialist in the field of railway operation, a prominent public figure, and a Professor at MIIT. The professional and creative activity of a talented educator and scientist is closely connected to the history of the country’s largest transport university - Moscow Institute of Transport Engineers (MIIT), now Russian University of Transport. The stages of a scientist's professional path are examined using materials from the institute's newspaper «Stalinets». V.N. Obraztsov had worked at MIIT for almost 50 years, created a scientific school, trained dozens of students and was the head of the country's first department of stations and junctions.
