The creative work of K. V. Nikiforov in the context of Yamal bone carving art

Abstract: The aim of the study is to identify the role of K. V. Nikiforov’s creative work in the context of Yamal bone carving art in the 21st century. The author sets herself the task of considering the main stages of the creative biography of the carver, analyzes the genre, thematic, figurative composition and stylistics of his creative work. Attention is paid to the design and exhibition activities of K. V. Nikiforov. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that for the first time in the scientific literature the creative work of the master and his role in Yamal bone carving art are analyzed. As a result of the study, the article gives an idea of the creative activity of K. V. Nikiforov: 1) promotion of Yamal bone carving art by means of active participation in competitions and exhibitions; 2) popularization of bone carving art through social and teaching activities; 3) introduction of new techniques, materials and themes into Yamal bone carving; 4) creation of a scale that is new to Yamal bone carving small plastic, bringing it closer to the sculptural form.
