Type: article
Abstract: Objective: This study aims to analyze Collaborative Governance involved in the implementation of policies and expansion of the coverage of labor protection in the current Palembang area, as well as to recommend an effective Collaborative Governance model. Theoretical Framework: This study uses the Collaborative Governance Model proposed by Governance. Collaborative Governance is an arrangement in which one or more public bodies directly engage non-state stakeholders in a formal, consensus-oriented, and deliberative collective decision-making process. Method: In this study, the researcher used a qualitative method. This study used secondary data from local governments to deepen discussions and support primary data findings. Secondary data can be a valuable source of qualitative data and can enrich data that cannot be collected through interviews. Results and Discussion: The implementation of collaborative governance in employment protection policies in Palembang requires the active involvement of various stakeholders. The main challenges in the form of public awareness and support from local governments require collaborative solutions involving all parties. With an inadequate level of collaboration, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan still needs to carry out broader and more targeted cooperation to achieve these goals. Research Implications: Theoretically, this research enriches the knowledge of organizations and administration. Practically, the collaboration model that has been successfully formulated can be used as a tool for cooperation between organizations and conflict resolution. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the literature by demonstrating the direct application of the Collaborative Governance theory. The relevance and value of this study are proven by providing recommendations in the implementation of Collaborative Governance.
