Abstract: On the territory of Pridnestrovie, a new species of Aegosoma scabricorne, a relict subfamily of the Prioninae of barbel beetles, has been discovered and needs protection. Relict species that have survived as a remnant of the ancestral insect group are rare. Agrius convolvuli and Macroglossum stellatarum are considered rare species and are listed in the Red Books of various regions. Since the necessary protection measures are measures to protect the habitats of these species, it is necessary to include these species in the Red Book of Pridnestrovie.
