Complex-Valued Kernels for Compensation of Pump Dithering Induced Distortions in FOPA Links

Abstract: We develop a complex-valued, kemel-adaptive-filtering based method for compensating phase and amplitude distortions in cascaded fibre-optical parametric amplifier links. Our algorithm effectively predicts and cancels the distortions induced by pump-phase modulation, achieving a Q2-factor improvement of up to 2dB across ten stages.
