Abstract: In the article, the social and economic aspects of cattle breeding by subjects of entrepreneurial activity in the agrarian sector of the economy were studied, highlighted and substantiated. It is substantiated that the war in Ukraine has a negative impact on both organizational and economic aspects of the functioning of enterprises that breed cattle. It has been proven that, under difficult circumstances, for the majority of households, the production of livestock products became a means of survival, a source of income and food. It is argued that the demand and supply, purchasing power and activity of consumers affect the price of realization. It has been substantiated that the creation of organizational, economic and motivational conditions is a promising direction for intensification of the livestock breeding process by business entities.
