Constitutional and legal characteristics of the referendum as an institution of direct democracy and its implementation

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: In the modern world, the importance of institutions of direct democracy is not the least important. It is with the help of such institutions that the population is able not only to participate in public affairs, but also directly or indirectly form the authorities themselves, which is no less important. For a more detailed consideration of such constitutional-legal institutions, it is also necessary to analyse the theory and problems of their implementation. It is worth noting that the participation of citizens in making important decisions as a "single system", in the role of a collective subject leads to the unification of the entire population of the country
