Operational and energy consequences of thermomodernization of residential buildings with basements

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Thermomodernization of buildings aims to improve their energy efficiency but should not cause deterioration of operating conditions. The article presents the consequences of different ways of insulating basements in residential buildings. The possibility of reducing heat loss when insulating external basement walls and the change in temperature values in unheated basements when insulating the ceiling above the basement are determined. The quantitative effects and consequences of using a particular thermal insulation method can be useful for investors to make appropriate decisions to avoid operating problems.
