Abstract: Technology, playing a central role in the transformation and advancement of education systems, enriches educational environments with the opportunities it offers, creating a quality and interactive learning experience. The integration of digital technologies, which began with the introduction of personal computers into the world of education, has brought numerous advantages such as fostering original thinking, providing interactive learning environments, and increasing online education opportunities. To understand the fundamental dynamics of these changes, the question, what is the role of digital technology in contemporary art education is crucial. In this context, digital applications for art education allow not only educators but also students to develop their artistic skills. The effects of digital technology on artistic expression offer new opportunities in art education, enhancing students' active participation and making the learning processes more dynamic. Based on this intellectual background, this research aims to provide a more systematic perspective on the opportunities offered by contemporary art education practices in the digital environment by analyzing them.This research is a qualitative study that aims to examine the impact of digital technology on artistic expression and contemporary art education. The research analyzes the integration of digital technology into art education and its contributions to the processes of artistic production. In this context, the study adopts the qualitative research method and conducts a descriptive analysis of the existing documents in the literature. The research systematically reviews the relevant literature to understand the role of digital technology in art education and artistic expression and presents a detailed analysis of the collected documents. To achieve the main objectives of the study, printed resources in university libraries, periodicals, and digitally accessible sources were carefully examined, and relevant information and documents were collected. The documents in the literature were classified according to themes aligned with the research objectives. In this context, publications corresponding to themes such as art education and contemporary art, digital art, and the integration of digital technology into contemporary art education were compiled. In the second phase, a descriptive analysis of the collected documents was conducted, and the effects of digital technology on artistic expression and contemporary art education were discussed. As a result, the impacts of digital technology on contemporary art education and artistic expression were comprehensively evaluated, and the advantages offered by digital technologies to contemporary art education, as well as the challenges encountered, were thoroughly discussed.
