Abstract: One type of metal-vapour laser is the helium mercury laser. It functions similarly to argon/krypton or helium-neon lasers. Because of its working principle, which is based on the ionic transitions of mercury, it is often referred to as the "mercury vapour ion laser." It can produce wavelengths that fall inside the electromagnetic spectrum's visible range. [22]
