Abstract: The distinction between mental disorders and character flaws is a crucial aspect of understanding human behavior and mental health. In daily life, people often confuse psychological disorders with character flaws, which makes it difficult for patients with psychological disorders to receive timely intervention to restore normalcy. If we can accurately distinguish between mental disorders and Character Flaws promptly, patients can receive earlier and more scientific treatment. Therefore, this essay aims to elucidate the differences between mental disorders and character flaws through the lens of abnormal psychology. Moreover, this study will advocate the establishment of effective support systems that offer scientifically grounded and systematic assistance to individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
