Digital Protection of Historic Buildings Based on BIM and Point Cloud Technology -- Rapid Model Construction and Application of a British Garden Residence in Shanghai
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This study explores the innovative application of BIM technology in accelerating the protection of historic buildings, especially the efficient construction of BIM models. In view of the fact that the traditional surveying and mapping method is not enough to use, the study uses BIM combined with 3D scanning and photogrammetry technology to propose a set of rapid modeling processes that adapt to the characteristics of historical buildings. Empirical evidence shows that this method significantly improves the efficiency of model building, while ensuring data quality and integrity. Finally, the research results provide new ideas for the digital protection of historical buildings, present feasible implementation plans to professionals, help the modernization of cultural heritage protection, and promote its long-term inheritance and development.
