Abstract: Autism spectrum disorder is one of the common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood characterized by repetitive abnormal behavior, limited interests, and impairments in social communication and interactions. Although the prevalence of ASD is increasing day by day, the treatment and rehabilitation of the disease is important. In the process from the diagnosis of the child with ASD to his/her education and inclusion in the community, it is important to educate and guide the family with the awareness of health professionals and to interact with public and private institutions. In this process, the importance of effective nursing care increases. This review includes the clinical presentation, etiology, epidemiology, treatment methods and nursing care of ASD.
