Methods of Obtaining Small Diameter Holes in the Manufacturing of Rocket Engine Filter Elements

Abstract: The methods for producing holes in metal filters of various sizes are considered. The specifics of using electrical discharge and electron beam processing methods for punching holes are disclosed. The ways of ensuring the quality of the surface layer of parts in the process of manufacturing filter elements of liquid rocket engines are presented. In accordance with the processing methods considered in the work, the roughness parameters of the holes made on a sample simulator and the hydraulic characteristics of the filter element at a constant flow rate of the working medium are studied.
