Abstract: The research background of core literacy in junior middle school mathematics teaching is based on the needs of current education reform and the pursuit of improving students' comprehensive quality. The practice path of junior middle school mathematics curriculum based on core literacy should focus on improving students' core literacy in mathematics, including mathematical thinking, logical reasoning, mathematical modeling, intuitive imagination and so on. Teachers need to adopt a series of effective teaching strategies and methods, such as emphasizing the clear design of teaching objectives, the innovation of teaching methods, and the effective design of classroom exercises to achieve the goal. At the same time, teachers should fully grasp the connotation of mathematics core literacy, optimize and reform teaching strategies according to the development needs of students, and put the cultivation of mathematics core literacy into practice, so as to promote the comprehensive development of students.
