Abstract: The problem of corruption development and its consequences in Russia are considered. The aim of the study is to examine the peculiarities of corruption development in Russia. The research methods involve analysis and abstraction. The development of corruption in Russia is assessed on the basis of evaluation systems in the field of studying the corruption incidence level. Corruption in modern Russia is one of the most acute and widely discussed phenomena of public life, contributing to the formation and reproduction of threats to national security. The system of measures to reduce corruption in Russia is proposed.
